60% of urban school children in the US do not graduate from high school, and a staggering 68% of low-income inner city 4th graders cannot read at a basic level.
The biggest downturn in the education process occurs in the 4th grade. This means if we fail to get kids reading by the time they are nine years old, we will lose them for life! We Americans cannot afford this, socially or economically.

Our literacy program caters to at-risk, abused, orphaned, poverty stricken and trafficked children. Our adopted PS 134 in the Bronx, the Foundling Hospital, the Covenant House, Catholic Charities, The Jewish Board of Family Services, GEMS, and The Harlem Dowling are among our beneficiaries.
